Lucky Number 7

Tyler joked with me yesterday and said "uh oh, 7 year itch..." and I said, definitely not the year for that! Instead, let's look at it as lucky number 7 :)

We (of course) went to Ventana to celebrate. Everything there is ah-maz-ing. Tyler was even treated to a beer on the house, and I enjoyed a strawberry margarita.

He popped the question...again!

Of course I was so eager to ask my bridesmaids to be part of my bridal party, but Tyler on the other hand, assured me he had months before we even needed to think about asking his groomsmen. After a little bit of pestering, I finally convinced him that he NEEDED to ask the guys asap when I heard one of his groomsmen would be in town for the weekend.

So I ordered these cool beer bottle labels from Bottle Your Brand, had Tyler pick out some beer, assembled the bottles, and voila! the groomsmen were ready to be asked!

And now, without further ado, Tyler's groomsmen:

Best Man

Justin is Tyler's younger brother and is currently studying Animal Science at Cal Poly, and will move onto Vet school after graduation.

Groomsman
Danny is one of Tyler's oldest friends. He is getting married this year too!

Groomsman

Phil is Tyler's cousin and is a real life farmer.

Groomsman
Travis was a fellow track buddy in high school, roommate for 2 years in college, and a good friend :)

Groomsman
Tyler met Andrew in Lake Tahoe as it turns out their families are neighbors. Coincidentally, Andrew also went to Cal Poly! Small world...

Groomsman
Noah is Tyler's youngest brother and is super excited to be a groomsman!

Engagement Session

I was really looking forward to documenting this special time before our wedding, and I couldn't think of anyone more talented than Alexandra Wallace to capture it.

I was first introduced to her work through one of Tyler's friends and had actually followed her work for a few years. It was an easy decision, and I'm happy to say she didn't let us down.

We drove out along Foxen Canyon Rd and just stopped wherever felt right. After hopping a few fences, Tyler suggested that maybe we go somewhere we don't have to be trespassers (woops).

We ended up on Tyler's family property Which was the perfect backdrop to our pictures. Alexandra worked her magic and captured the most perfect pictures I could have asked for. Feast your eyes on some of our shots!

Let's play catch up

Woahhh it’s been awhile since I posted..almost 4 months to the day! As you can imagine, Tyler and I have been keeping pretty busy with wedding plans and life in general. From bridal expos to Christmas, ski trips, Gatsby parties, engagement photos, work, venue visits, DRESS SHOPPING, and lots more in between, I feel like we’re barely coming up for air. Hence, the 4 month delay in my posts. Annnndddd we just celebrated our 7 year anniversary. Jeez a lou how time flies!

I can’t think of another word, other than CRAZY, that we are getting married this year. Ok, maybe I can. Thrilled, excited, anxious (in a good way)…But I mean “crazy” in the sense that after all the years, it’s finally happening. We’re one of those few couples that make it through high school, through the first few months of college, through all the growing pains, through college graduation, through quarter(ish) life crises, and end up making their way to the altar.

Here we are though! Making plans and such…crazy I tell ya.

Let’s play catch up :)

I went to the Central Coast Bride Dridal Expo in October and ran into an old co-worker. She's getting married this year too- on my birthday actually! The expo had so many vendors that it was slightly overwhelming. I think the numbers of vendors, plus being newly engaged left me a little lost amongst all the brochures. But it was a good place to start!

Christmas was here before we knew it, and although we planned on forgoing the Christmas decorations, Tyler knew me better than that. The result was the cutest most amazing Christmas tree! I was so excited about the fluffy ornaments :)

I've also been keeping crazy busy selling bridesmaid boxes on Etsy. My thought was, I looked all over the internet trying to find the right box/kit to give my bridesmaids, there has to be others out there looking for the same thing. Sure enough, orders came flooding in. At times I had 3 orders of 6 boxes each to complete in 3 days! Phew! But it's kept me busy while Tyler was wrapped up in basketball season. Go Lakers!

This little one is going to steal my fiancé if I'm not careful!! We went to support her at her holiday Christmas program and who's arms did she jump into immediately?? I'll give you one guess...

One of our favorite things about winter is our annual trip to Tahoe. The snow was scarce but the views never get old. We made it onto the slopes one day, did some hiking, made out of this world pizza with the Stern Family, and got some puppy time.

We got a little spontaneous on our way back from Tahoe and decided to spend New Year's Eve with Tyler's freshman year roommate and his girlfriend. Trevor and Quynhly are just the sweetest. This wasn't some little New Year's Eve celebration either. We went to an awesome Gatsby themed party along the Embarcadero where all drinks were included with the ticket price. Sound dangerous? It was. Turns our a lot of out college friends got the memo about the party, so it was quite the reunion.

2013 was a great year. Tyler graduated college. We both started our careers. He put a ring on it. And topped it off with an awesome party in the city

But I have to say, sorry 2013, I have a feeling 2014 will out do you ;)
