our love story

It all started in high school, almost 7 years ago! Tyler was actually trying to help mend the relationship I was in, but unintentionally we started falling for each other.

Our first date was on Valentine’s Day..at Applebee’s. Romantic, right? I remember being really hungry and ordering my favorite, Three Cheese Chicken Penne, but didn’t end up eating much because Tyler barely touched his plate. Being an overly self-conscious adolescent, I of course wouldn’t dare eat more than him! Later, I learned this was very unlike him. He is known to eat his meal and help me finish my own. Apparently, he wasn’t feeling very well on our first date. I think he was nervous ;) Regardless, he asked me out a few days later 02.18.07

Tyler and I were inseparable. You can ask anyone and they would agree. We are like two peas in a pod, or pie and ice cream…if you relate better to dessert analogies.

We somehow managed to end up at the same college. We started Cal Poly in 2008, I in pursuit of a journalism career and Tyler looking forward to dentistry or orthodontics. We both had big dreams of careers in our field, and by the end of the year, we decided they weren't for us. I graduated with a degree in Child Development and a minor in Psychology. Tyler received a degree in AgriBusiness and a ton of extra units as he took classes to fulfill the requirements for his PCA license.
Freshman year at Cal Poly
Junior Year- AOII Formal
Senior Year- Wine Tasting in Paso Robles, CA
Growing up with someone through life milestones definitely has it's challenges. Not only are you trying to figure out who you are as a person, but you also have to figure out where your significant other fits into the solution. It's something that I look back on and know I wouldn't want to have experienced with anyone else. We've experienced each other's ups and downs, successes and failures, and everything in between. And I think if we can make it through everything the last 7+ years has thrown at us, we can do anything.
